In order to ensure his commitment, I made my highschooler apply to home school. Application must be received by June, I told him. He finished it already. I hope this is a good sign. He's reading books on homeschooling and looking into what colleges look for and expect. I couldn't be more thrilled with the interest he's taking.
It makes me want to pull him out right now, but I have to keep the bases covered. I want him to earn the credits in case in homeschool, he never gets off the couch and it's send him back to school or kill him. I'd hate to have this a failed experiment that puts him behind instead of ahead.
